Class Descriptions

All of our yoga classes are designed for all levels of students. We provide a safe and trauma informed space for individuals to explore the ancient art of healing through yoga. No matter which class you venture into at Wilkie Wellness, the use of props is always welcome and encouraged. In addition, modifications are welcome when needed (to accommodate any limitations, injuries, conditions, etc). The safety and comfort level of each student is of the utmost importance.

Nourish 

This practice leads you home and guides an inner healing journey towards divine love. You will have a chance to restore and rejuvenate and tap into the physical, as well as the subtle bodies in a different way. Combining mantra chanting, yin/restorative postures, and pranayama, we will nurture our inner being and elongate our capacity to feel and expand our ability to love.

Rest + Restore 

Join us for a relaxing and nourishing class, for the body, mind and soul. Explore healing and supportive poses that will benefit your nervous system, ease muscular tension and release physical stress. Restorative yoga is very relaxing and slow paced. This class is a beautiful combination of slow flowing movements, yin/restorative poses and breath awareness. You will be sure to leave feeling calm, peaceful and balanced after this healing practice.

Move Y[inwards]

This practice is mellow, focusing on reducing stress and deepening the practice of meditation. Yin yoga is a quiet, meditative practice with long, deep holding of passive poses. Using mindful muscle relaxation, yin postures target the connective tissue nourishing joints, ligaments, and fascia promoting the healthy flow of chi (energy). Come nourish your mind, body and spirit with this grounding practice. 

Gentle Energy Flow  

We focus on energetic alignment, an intuitive and playful approach to alignment that goes beyond muscle and bone. We will explore the pranamaya kosha ( the sphere of our life energies) which mediates between the physical body on one side and the three sheaths of the mind (outer mind, intelligence, and inner mind) on the other. By engaging the Pancha Vayus (the 5 directions of prana/life force), we’ll explore alignment that draws upon internal wisdom. The movements respect the innate intelligence and intuition of our body, connecting you to your own rhythm while opening to the pace and energy of others. The practices bow deeply to the sacred relationship that we have with our own form.

Cleanse + Restore 

Join us for a relaxing and nourishing class, for the body, mind and soul. The class will open with a cleansing practice for the space and each student. Explore healing and supportive poses that will benefit your nervous system, ease muscular tension and release physical stress. Restorative yoga is very relaxing and slow paced. During savasana you will explore the healing benefits of traditional drumming. You will be sure to leave feeling calm, peaceful and balanced after this healing practice.

Unwind

This class invites you to slow down and settle into your body and your breath. A combination of yin yoga and restorative postures encourages a slow paced class with longer held postures. Incorporating props and chair yoga, you’ll find what you need to be fully supported through this class and allow your body to unwind!

Calming Flow 

This is a slower paced class synching breath with movement to help calm the nervous system and clear out blocked energy. Props will be provided for extra support which helps us to relax into the deepest layers of the body. It is a soothing and nurturing practice that promotes the effects of conscious relaxation which will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.  

New Earth Energy Yoga 

Collectively we are sitting at the edge of a pivotal breakthrough in human consciousness and humanity is awakening to a deep experience and knowing that we are multidimensional beings. In this class you will experience the importance of restoring and maintaining energy flow in this process of awakening as you continue to expand from the fear based, small ego self to living as the boundless whole creative being you are. Breath, movement, toning and sacred sound, sacred hand positions will all be explored with an invitation to embody your experiences and understandings of chakras and the subtle energy body from a multidimensional viewpoint. We are all capable of awakening to higher dimensions of ourselves and this class will support you in awakening to your true nature as an evolving human energy field.
