Class Descriptions

All of our yoga classes are designed for all levels of students. We provide a safe and trauma informed space for individuals to explore the ancient art of healing through yoga. No matter which class you venture into at Wilkie Wellness, the use of props is always welcome and encouraged. In addition, modifications are welcome when needed (to accommodate any limitations, injuries, conditions, etc). The safety and comfort level of each student is of the utmost importance.

Reiki Restorative and Massage

In this darkened candle- lit class we combine restorative yoga poses with Reiki energy healing and massage. We focus on connecting inward and aligning the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual by practicing stillness and gentle movement. Class will be taught in traditional restorative style where poses are typically held for 5-10 minutes with gentle reiki and massage assists by Samantha Wilkie as she spends individual time with each student. Due to the nature of restorative and the length of time the poses are held, the adjustments and massage will never force you deeper into the posture, but rather encourage and increase release and greater level of support. Please note that both reiki and massage are optional in this class, if you prefer to come just for the relaxation and restorative poses that is perfectly okay!

Happy Hips Yoga

Find release through awareness and use of the hips! Join us for a yoga class focusing on opening and strengthening the hips. The hips are at the pelvic hub of our skeletal system, affecting the way we walk, sit, move and sleep. The tighter our hips, the tighter the lower back; with tension in these regions, the psoas is prone to shortening, making it harder to walk, sit, stand, and practice! Creating harmony in the hips often leads to harmony in the entire body/mind. Happier hips make for happier days and nights :)

Did you know that stress and negative emotion such as fear, guilt and sadness are held in your hips too? This class is your opportunity to go inward and invite new spaciousness into the body and heart. Your back, hips, knees and mind will feel liberated! 

Restorative Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy focuses on an individual as a whole and looks at health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual and working with all aspects of oneself is essential to healing. These carefully designed sessions provide a safe space for individuals to explore their own bodies through gentle, therapeutic and exploratory movement, guided meditation and focused breathing techniques. These classes are your opportunity to practice self care and recognize the importance of patience along ones healing journey, honour where you are in every moment and become reacquainted with your body. Working with a Yoga Therapist is helpful as they understand how to create safe space which allows clients to work with the practices of yoga with the knowledge that they are not alone when difficult emotions or states arise. It also provides them with the ability to build experience working with difficult states and continue to work to lessen their effect on the system. If you are looking to deepen your connection to yourself through conscious movement, breath practices and meditation, that this class is for you. You will experience a combination of slow flowing movements, restoratives postures and hands on reiki healing. Our movements and postures will focus on increasing strength and flexibility, promote relaxation and help to maintain overall health. 

Slow Flow & Restore

This class is suitable for all levels and will be very beneficial for those looking to relieve stress and anxiety. Awaken your spirit and open your heart through a slow flow that will ease you through asanas (postures) releasing tension in the body. Synchronizing breath with movement clears out blocked energy so this class is aimed to lift your spirits and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. Props will be provided for extra support during our restorative poses, which helps us to relax into the deepest layers of the body. You will be sure to leave feeling calm, peaceful and balanced after this healing practice.

Soul Flow 

You are invited to move freely in spirit and soul while exploring movement with modern and soulful music. you are encouraged to move intuitively with the beat at your own level. We invite all judgement and expectations to be left at the door. Come home to yourself on your mat for 60 mins. You will bring awareness towards the connection of breath and movement, allow the mind to become calm, while diving deeper into your practice and let everything you do be a direct extension of your soul. You will feel the building of strength in the body, move with courage, breathe with compassion for all that you are, live in love for your practice and perseverance. Everything you need is already within you, the time has always been now. You are encouraged to expand your body and mind in vinyasa inspired movements, move your body freely, and leave feeling re-energized and a release within. You can expect the use of essential oils and the use of hands on support throughout the class. Come exactly as you are. All levels welcome!

Mantra and Movement 

This is a holistic and playful form of yoga. A moving meditation practice designed to help release stress on a cellular level, improve circulation and re-align the whole being. In this practice, movements are slowed to help you connect with the present moment and focus on harmonizing breath with movement. Each class is unique, and creatively structured to align the physical, mental, emotional and intuitive self, creating space for energy to flow within and beyond the physical body.This approach emphasizes a balanced practice, calming the body and mind and guiding you into a naturally clear, meditative state. Together we will explore classical elements of yoga (mantra, breathing, sound, postures, meditation) weaving in aspects of Qigong and Zen Imagery techniques. Bringing forward ancient wisdom for a modern age, this practice honors the essence and origin of yoga. You will have the opportunity to learn more about yoga and the purpose of diverse yogic techniques, leaving this class with useful tools to improve well-being both on and off the mat.

Yin and Massage 

Yin yoga is a restorative form of yoga which has been developed to counteract the stronger and more active yang yoga styles which are practiced in most studios today.  In these yin yoga sessions you’ll be guided through a series of ‘low to the ground’ postures that are held for several minutes.  You may be seated, lying down or in low lunges and some props may be used to assist you.  Due to the long held nature of the yin yoga poses, the ligaments, joints and bones are affected as much as the muscles, so the body has the time and ability to increase the strength, flexibility and vitality of these body parts which are so important to our well-being.  While poses are held, you’ll be mindfully guided through your breath and experience hands on massage. You will find that by the end of the session you feel deeply relaxed and rejuvenated. 

Crystal Bowl Healing Meditation

With Amanda Scandrett of Sacred Circle Healing Arts. Join us for a one-hour journey of guided meditation combined with the sounds of the healing quartz crystal singing bowls.
The frequency of the quartz crystal singing bowls help us to balance our mind and body while the guided meditation will focus our intentions and deepen the healing sound experience.
This meditation experience is suitable for all levels of experience, from the beginner to the established meditator. Please bring anything that will provide you with a comfortable meditation experience such as blanket, pillow, yoga mat, etc.

Restorative Yoga Nidra

This blissful class combines restorative yoga poses with a guided yoga nidra. We focus on connecting inward and aligning the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual by practicing stillness and gentle movement. Class will be taught in traditional restorative style where poses are typically held for 5-10 minutes with gentle reiki and massage assists. We will end our evening together with guided yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, in which the body is completely relaxed, and one becomes increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. Yoga nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.

Bhakti Yin

A journey to the heart. This practice leads you home and guides an inner healing journey towards divine love.


Bhakti yoga is classically defined as the path of devotion, and it's often referred to as the yoga of love. Bhakti is one of the three primary paths to enlightenment laid out by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. The practice is often described as one of concentrating one's mind, emotions, and senses on the Divine in order to merge into the reality of divine love.

Let the mind rest, while you float into vibrations of bliss. You will have a chance to restore and rejuvenate and tap into the physical, as well as the subtle bodies in a different way. Combining yin/restorative postures, meditation, pranayama, hands on reiki and the healing vibrations of the heart chakra crystal bow we will nurture our inner being and elongate our capacity to feel and expand our ability to love.

As with all paths of yoga, it's an individual experience and that's truly what's so beautiful about it. Each person has a different emotional landscape, and in bhakti yoga we can let our emotions be our internal compass.

Shakti Flow

This intuitive, sacred and and rhythmic flow will energize the body and break-up stuck energy. This is a mind, body and soul journey designed to unite the masculine + feminine aspects of ourselves as we find freedom in movement, draw awareness from the mind to the heart, and allow insight to arise naturally. This may be different from any yoga you have experienced in the past. Our focus is less on the rigid, strict and alignment of traditional asanas and more on deep, intimate self love. These practices channel form flow through intuitive and sensual movements, love and kindness meditation and nourishing pranayama. The movements respect the innate intelligence and intuition of our body. The practices bow deeply to the sacred relationship that we have with our own form. Its natural flow allows us to be absorbed into the river of Shakti ( life force energy) coursing through our bodies and activating the radiance that shines from within.

Healing Yoga

If anxiety and stress are getting the best of you, perhaps this class can help. This is a compassionate mind-body practice that combines physical poses(yin and yang), controlled breathing, meditation and relaxation to reduce stress, lower blood pressure and lower your heart rate. This class is suitable for all levels and will be very beneficial for those looking to relieve stress and anxiety, this class is a safe and open space for all. Props will be provided for extra support during our restorative poses, which helps us to relax into the deepest layers of the body. You will be sure to leave feeling calm, peaceful and balanced after this healing practice.

Yoga for a Cause

This free class will bring us together as a community to support a local non-profit through the collective effort of donations. This winter season we will offer our donations to the women and children supported by the YWCA Regina. We ask that all those who attend and are able, to please bring a donation which may include dental hygiene products, baby products, or any toiletry of choice. This class will offer a gentle evening practice with a soft approach that is accessible to all. The practice will include a balance between movement and stillness and support body awareness, relaxation, and grounding.

Yoga for Trauma Recovery

This carefully designed class provides a safe space for individuals to explore their own personal traumas through gentle exploratory movement, guided meditation and focused breathing techniques. This trauma-informed space is your opportunity to practice self care and recognize the importance of patience along ones healing journey, honour where you are in every moment and become reacquainted with your body. This class is a reminder that you don't walk this path alone and is an opportunity to create an even larger support system and community for your healing journey.
